Alright, kind of slavery mixed with handmaids tale and different time view points

I listened to this as an audiobook and the narrator had the most lovely Irish accent. I had never read a Sally Rooney novel before, but was recommended this by a friend, and I enjoyed it very much. Being a sibling is hard, so is losing a parent, and being in love. Great novel!

Very intriguing story and a twist at the end!

A bit slow to start. It's a bit darker compared to some of the others in the series. An interesting examination of mental health.

I loved the slow-moving, warm and perceptive story of the inhabitants of the Irish village of Faha in the 1950s, as it makes its way into modern times with the coming of the telephone and electricity. Friendship, love, incredible writing. I just got another book the author has written from the library, entitled Time of the Child, also taking place in Faha. Sadly the library only has these 2, but I may request an inter-library loan to read more from Niall Williams.
