Best book I've read in a very long time. Couldn't put it down. A look at a red-headed orphan in the Canadian criminal justice system, a la Anne of Green Gables. The parallels are intentional and well done.

I love the whimsy of this series, the footnotes, the soldiering on for academic reasons in the face of the horrors of faerie.

Was a really great listening experience. There was lots of science and math that I would never understand but they dumb it down for the listener and make it really funny. This is a really feeling good story with lots of turns and loved the whole story from start to end

The short stories were not for me. However, the titular novella "Here the Dark" was phenomenal and deserves five stars. I adored the protagonist Lily and found the story to be moving and meaningful.

A great comfort read

A book of two interweaving stories that speak to how we can foster our inner child, or let it die. I’m a big fan of two stories that interact with each other, especially so when there is a time gap between the two. Being able to connect stories over time speaks to the authors ability to connect to the reader as well.
